1999: East Coast Extravaganza

Leslie Charleson gave many of her fans a day to remember when she held her Sixth Annual East Coast Luncheon. This event took place at the high class Algonquin Hotel in the heart of New York City on Saturday, June 5th, 1999. The sun was shining, as were the faces inside.

As all the fans gathered to meet Ms. Charleson, they were greeted by merchandise, including pictures, T-shirts and mouse pads of the Quartermaines, and the raffle items. Soon it was time for everyone to get seated, and wait for the Goddess to arrive. Leslie Charleson graciously entered the room, and greeted all of her fans with her picture perfect smile. She welcomed everyone, and personally greeted each table. After the delicious meal, Leslie answered the questions put forth by her fans. Her witty sense of humor pleased all the guests.

After the questions, Leslie received gifts from some of her fans. Two of her fans that came all the way from Sweden gave her gifts from overseas. And then Chrissy and I presented Leslie a picture from her TV appearance on Adam 12 from 1974. Then came the raffle of items from the "General Hospital" set. The raffle items consisted of autographed scripts, ties, shirts, jewelry, etcUnfortunately; it was then time to leave, but not before the best part of the day. The fans got to meet Leslie one on one, pose for pictures and get an autograph.

Each year the luncheon gets better and better, thanks to the people running it; Kay, Krista, Ang, Phyllis and of course, Leslie. Ms. Charleson is an incredible, classy lady and a gracious hostess. This is one event that one should never pass up, I know I never will!
