After almost 5 years of begging, my mother finally allowed me to attend Brunch with the Quartermaines. And I am so glad that she did because the whole weekend was one of the best experiences of my life.
Brunch with the Quartermaines was held at the Universal Hilton on Saturday, July 24th. Before the festivities began, fans had the chance to purchase various Quartermaine memorabilia and raffle tickets. The items available for purchase included pictures, mouse pads, cups, and t-shirts. Autographed scripts, various articles of clothing, and even a trip to the set of General Hospital were among the items being raffled off.
After fans had a chance to get situated, it was time to for the party to officially begin. Krista came out and introduced the actors and actresses: Billy Warlock, Stephen Kay, Amber Tamblyn, Patricia Healy, Wally Kurth, John Ingle, and Anna Lee. Then to everyone's surprise Leslie and Stuart came in through a different entrance ... fighting. It was hilarious and extremely entertaining. Leslie said that it was her party and Stuart replied by saying that he gave it her. John then made a toast to Alan and Monica in celebration of their anniversary and the fans joined him in raising their glasses.
Lunch was served soon afterwards, and it was delicious. At one point between bites, I heard some applause. It was Brad Maule arriving at the Brunch. After the main course we went on to my favorite part of the meal, dessert. Dessert included a chocolate-dipped strawberry. We had champagne and strawberries ... A&M's anniversary ritual.
After lunch were the Q&A and the raffle. The Q&A was so entertaining. The question for Leslie was who else in Port Charles would Monica have an affair with. Someone yelled out "Fasion!" and the look on Leslie's face was priceless. Then Stuart was asked about what A&M do for their anniversary. Stuart's reply had something do with A&M's bedroom, mirrors, and statues. I am not sure what the exact answer was, but it definitely left Leslie speechless.
After the Q&A and the raffle it was time for pictures and autographs. The remaining actors went around from table to table to take pictures, sign various items, answer questions, and just talk to the fans. All the actors were extremely nice and I got either an autograph and/or picture from everyone that I wanted. Leslie generously stayed around until the very end to make sure that everyone who wanted an autograph got one.
The Brunch was pure class in every aspect. I had such a great time at the Brunch and cannot wait to go back next year. My entire weekend in Los Angles was a dream come true.
