1998: East Coast Extravaganza

What else would someone want to do on their summer vacation than go see Leslie Charleson in New York City? After 25 hours of driving from Florida to New York, the day finally came, I was going to meet Leslie Charleson!!

On Saturday, June 13th, 1998, the Righa Royal Hotel Banquet Hall on the 54th floor opened its doors to the poor souls that walked and drove in the storm clouds and ran from all around New York City to get to the East Coast Extravaganza hosted by Leslie Charleson and her fan club.

There were tables with raffle items and souvenirs of the Q's set up before the dining area. We made our way to the tables. Krista came out and told us about the twists and turns trying even to get to New York. After telling the disaster stories, Leslie made her grand entrance. A dream come true, Leslie Charleson was only a few feet away from me. She looked great!! Her bright smile outshined the story weather.

After lunch, the Q&A portion of the show started. The usual questions were asked. Everything from scoops to Rick returning and even why Monica is so clueless. Leslie did her best to answer them all and some even warranted funny stories. This led to the raffle. They auctioned off a lot of stuff, most of which Leslie wanted to keep. They had some of Alan and Monica's wardrobes, assorted letters and items used in the show. Leslie thanked us all and we all moved into the lounge area for a photo session.

This was a day I will never forget! My dream finally came true! I got to actually talk to Leslie Charleson. Best of all, I plan to attend every year from now on! It is a day I wouldn't miss for anything!
