2002: GH Party

August 25th marks the third GH Party I have attended. Although the food has not gotten any better, I still had fun and will continue to attend to show my support for our own "Goddess and her Prince Charming".

I will try to share with some of the highlights of this year's event so that those of you who were not able to attend can picture how much fun it is. Starting outside with the booths, I have to say that Leslie's was the best and I am not being bias here. Several fans came up to the booth to say how much they enjoyed Leslie's brunch on Saturday and how much they wanted to see more of her on their TV also. Thankfully, postcards were available for purchase to send in and tell the powers that be that we want More Monica!!

At 10:30 we were able to make our way into ballroom and find our table. I sat at table 34 with Lesley, Julie, and Chrissy, we had a competition with Anita and Lori who were at table 20 to see who could yell the loudest for Leslie. I don't know who won, but I do know that we made sure Leslie heard us when it came time. After we ate and they announced the raffle winners it was time for the introduction of the actors. John Ingle did the introductions and I do believe Leslie had the loudest fans. Some of the actors who were in attendance were Denise Alexander, Chad Brannon, Tamara Braun, Steve Burton, Robin Christopher, Leslie, Nancy Lee Grahn, Wally Kurth, Billy Warlock, Alicia Lee Willis, Kin Shriner, Chris Robinson, Robyn Richards, Jackie Zeman and plenty of others.

Once all the actors were introduced it was time for the naming of the fan voted on awards by the actor who portrays Elton. Best Supporting Actress - our very own Leslie Charleson, Best Supporting Actor - John Ingle, Best Villain - Billy Warlock, and Best Actress - Nancy Lee Grahn. In her speech Nancy was sure to thank John Ingle, Stuart Damon, Wally Kurth, and "Lester" (as she called Leslie) for their support during her 7 pages of dialog during Kristina's funeral, which I thought was very nice. After these awards Leslie, Kin Shriner, and Jackie Zeman were recognized for their 25 years on the show. Stuart would be given his award when he returned to work.

The question and answer portion was next. This year they did it a little different and had John J. York come out into the crowd and let the fans ask the questions. Our very own Chrissy Holler asked Leslie "Does Monica know that Rick is dead?" Leslie's answer was "yes, she does." Steve Burton was asked who he thought the best kisser was and with a little coaxing from his "Mom" he said Leslie was the best kisser. Chris Robinson was asked, "How did you like being back to work at GH with your former co-workers?" he replied that he loved being back to work with his friends and especially Leslie, Stuart and Denise. He did ask the crowd if they would have liked to see a story with Rick and Monica, which was answered with a loud round of applause.

Next it was time for the actors and actresses to make their way to their tables so fans could come and get their autographs. Leslie was seated with Chris Robinson and Denise Alexander and their table was kept very busy. Just seeing all the fans at their table goes to show what a great opportunity the powers that be missed by not using their history and writing a storyline involving these three actors along with Stuart.

As always it was a great weekend and I had a lot of fun hanging out with Anita, Chrissy, Jan, Julie, Lesley, and Lori. I also want to thank Leslie, Kay and Krista for all their hard work. I encourage all of you to do your part and call the comment line, post on the message boards, write those letters, or whatever else you can think of to get our point across - MORE MONICA!!!
